"A Vast Space: an Evening of Poetry and Presence," is a mindful poetry and potluck event open to the community. Please join us for community, poetry, and a chance to take refuge in verse.

Bring some poems to read, either yours, a poet you admire, or from the canon. The event is potluck, so you are invited to bring snacks, finger food, appetizers, dessert, and so on - anything that can be easily eaten without utensils.

Location:

Curtis Hall Community Center, Social Room
20 South St, Jamaica Plan, MA 02130

Time:

Friday, July 24, 2026
5:30 P.M: Setup and Mingle
6:00 to 8:00 P.M: Poetry!

A Vast Space has been set up by Piero Falci, a frequent contributor to the Zine, an author, and an instructor of Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction, as well as other forms of Mindfulness. This organization, the New England Buddhist Poetry Exchange, is run by Jade Kleiner, a writer and member of Plum Village. You can read some of her work here.

The New England Buddhist Poetry Exchange is a poetry Zine and a concrete way to incorporate poetry-writing into your practice. Folks are invited to "exchange," one poem every two months with other poets. You can read a sample issue here and submit a poem for next month's exchange here. Outside of the first issue, our Poetry Exchanges are not posted openly online, only circulated within our communities. You can get in touch and request back issues here.
