Welcome! Start here.

The New England Buddhist Poetry exchange is a concrete way to integrate poetry writing into your practice. Contact: fishwritespoetry@gmail.com
Members are invited to "exchange" one poem per month with other members. The exchanged poems are gathered into a single document, then circulated within our Sanghas for others to see and join. The Exchange is not a magazine. Poems do not need to meet an editorial standard to be exchanged.

To exchange a poem this month, April, 2026, click here. You may use a pen name. You can view our "proof of concept" exchange here. You can also subscribe to the Exchange and get back issues through this form.

The goal of the New England Buddhist Poetry exchange is to encourage inter-Sangha community, spread poetry as a formal practice, and create personal pieces of art when much is being erased. It is geared to New England, but open to practitioners anywhere. It was founded in 2025 by Jade Kleiner with the assistance of her Sangha, Peaceful Songbird, in the Plum Village tradition.
